Reviews from guests and brides.

The venue was a one stop shop. The farm itself is absolutely gorgeous. There are two airbnbs on sight which made lodging and coordinating with the wedding party that much cheaper and stress free. The interiors of the airbnbs are beautiful especially the Carriage House. Both are filled with amazing handmade wood furniture. The price point was one of the biggest factors in deciding on Satolah. We were able to get the venue, airbnbs, and officiant for what it would have cost for just the venue elsewhere. I was overall very pleased with the experience.

Satolah Creek Farm was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! We stayed the whole weekend with the wedding on Sunday and it was honestly magical. Pippa and her team were amazing from start to finish and truly made our wedding day a day that we will never forget. The donkeys were also a huge hit! I would encourage anyone looking for a venue to consider this place. We were made to feel extremely welcome and our 3 dogs were also allowed to, not only stay with us, but actively participate in the wedding which was a huge plus for us!

We had a blast staying at Blackberry House! There were 10 of us ranging from 2 to 75 and we all found joy and fulfillment with all there was to do on property. Perfect distance to Highlands as well. The dogs that visit will forever hold a special place in our hearts! Such a unique structure, furniture and decor, vibe, etc. Looking at the stars at night on the driveway and enjoying the thunderous storms was so nice. It worked out perfect for us!

We had a wonderful wedding at Satolah Creek Farm. The property was beautifully landscaped. When we got married in May the azaleas and other flowers were blooming. Our guests enjoyed taking pictures with the donkeys, exploring the property and dancing under the stars. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and hosts for our special day. PS: the Carriage House was a great place for the bridesmaids and family to get ready before the ceremony and relax with a glass of wine when the ceremony was over.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon! We loved every minute! The location is not far from Highlands or Clayton. This gives you tons to do! There are also alot of hiking trails and creeks around to explore. Pippa was beyond helpful with everything from recommendations to pottery lessons and gourd burning lessons! We also fished in the pond and had the coondog, George, cheering us on! We highly recommend this location!

Wow - what a great, unexpected weekend! The Carriage House is like a fairy tale with incredibly new and modern amenities in addition to a beautiful property and friendly animals! My kids had so much fun visiting with the Candy the Donkey, Bart the Clydesdale and George the dog. There are walking trails on the roughly 45 acre property and Pippa offers up pottery classes if available. We all had a wonderful and relaxing time and it was only a 15 minute drive to the Highlands. Definitely one of the more unique stays we’ve ever had!

Satolah Creek Farm is a magical place! Pippa went above and beyond as a host making us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The space was like something out of a magazine but warm and cozy all at once. Art an furniture made by Pippa and her husband makes this a one of kind place. The setting of the farm is beautiful and tranquil. Having coffee on the porch swing overlooking the farm was a great way to start the day and finishing the day by the fireplace was a great end. Thanks Pippa for a wonderful stay we hope to be back soon!

Blackberry House was a lovely place to stay with my family. There were only 3 of us but the cabin could’ve slept a dozen or more easily. It was huge and so many beds available. My daughter loved the donkeys, horses and the friendly dogs. Pippa herself was so very kind and showed us around her part of the property, told us about the history of the farm. The location was very peaceful and private. It’s a 15 min drive to highlands or a 25 min drive to Clayton. Highly recommend this place. We’re already thinking about coming back next year and bringing more people!

We stayed for 2 nights at Pippa’s place and even though the weather was rainy, we very much enjoyed our visit! The Carriage House is beautiful, quirky and fun! The land as you drive in is nothing short of a fairy tale with beautiful landscaping, sculptures to be discovered and a welcoming collection of animals that make you feel right at home. The beds were comfy, kitchen is fully stocked, the covered deck with a porch swing was a popular place for us! You look out on a pond filled with ducks, a fenced area that contains the donkeys and horses and the landscaping is filled with blooming flowers. Pippa is as lovely as a host as the place she has created. We would love to stay again and would certainly recommend her place to others.

Satolah Farm was absolutely magical! This venue allowed me and my bridal party to have the best experience getting ready! We stayed in the beautiful Carriage House, while the men stayed in the Blackberry House. The property is so stunning, it includes beautiful backdrops and is so unique to anything else in the area! It was a wonderful experience getting to explore the area and meet the animals on the farm. We ended up with the most beautiful photographs! This was overall an amazing stay and experience! The owners had everything you could need and are so helpful! We highly recommend having your wedding or event here!

Our visit from the very start was like we stepped into a magical storybook! The hosts have an amazing eye for detail. The Carriage House is beautifully decorated and is the perfect place to spend a vacation. They even host weddings at this beautiful farm! Our family had a pottery lesson from Mrs. Pippa which was so much fun. The kids kept going back each day. The animals were amazing and the dogs became our quick friends. Our daughter loved to brush the donkeys. The Clydesdale, Bart, is beautiful! We enjoyed walks through the woods and swinging on the porch. The kids loved the treehouse and the playhouse. My husband loved to fish. I really enjoyed talking with Pippa, she is a beautiful soul. Ron was so kind and a hard worker tending to the beautiful flowers. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay, we are already planning the next!

We can’t say enough about our stay at Blackberry House. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. 10 of us stayed so comfortably. We loved cooking in the well equipped kitchen and were grateful that the beautiful dining table accommodated us all with room to spare! And the property itself is gorgeous! Idyllic. We loved feeding the sweet donkeys and watching the ducks and horses in such a beautiful setting. The location is perfect too. 15 minutes from super fun Highlands and 30 minutes from some of the best white water rafting ever. And truly, we have never met a more gracious or talented host. The only thing we will do differently next time is sign up to make walking sticks with Pippa or possibly explore some of the other creative outlets she offers. It was all so wonderful and good for the soul.

Looking for a quiet, secluded getaway with activities to do onsite was what we wanted. When we arrived, we were excited to find that the newly renovated Carriage House reminded us of an Aspen chalet overlooking the farm pasture and pond. Luxurious bedding and soft towels, a gourmet kitchen, and all the comforts of home made our vacation a peaceful getaway. Handmade eclectic furnishings and artwork adorned the home. Pippa was nearby to answer any questions we had and encouraged us to visit and feed the donkeys and horses onsite. Our dog enjoyed running around with her dogs on the property. Live geese, ducks, and wild deer were all onsite. We hiked the trails on the property, visited all the buildings, even roasting smores by the fire pit. We only left the residence to get groceries and also visited Whitewater Falls, NC., a local attraction. It is truly a beautiful place that Pippa and her family have been able to create. We will be back again to make more family memories.

Our family had a great time at the Backberry Haus! We enjoyed that the house was spacious enough for 5 adults and 3 kids without even using the basement bunkbeds. We loved the spacious living room and dining room with seating for all and the front porch swings and fire pit to relax after hikes. The property itself is so great with a lot to explore. Being so close to Highlands for a good lunch and ice cream and also so many fun hikes nearby was a huge plus as well. All of the little touches in the home and custom made furniture and pottery is so charming. The kids and dog Sally loved the daily visits and playtime with Pippa’s dogs on the porch as well. We did Glen Falls (kids loved playing in the water by the Falls), Secret Falls (kids loved the swimming hole), Three Forks and Whitesides Mountain Trail (awesome views when not foggy). We also did Highlands Outpost for tubing down a big hill and the roller coaster which the kids (6 yrs old) loved. We got rained out the first full day but it was so relaxing to just sit on the porch and listen to the rain.

This was such a magical vacation for us. Pippa and Ron are wonderful hosts. Blackberry House is very clean, stocked with home goods, and is huge! It has 3 spacious levels of hand crafted furniture, art, and housewares in every corner. The forest, gardens, and farm are so amazingly beautiful and fun to explore. It’s a great basecamp for visiting the countless parks, trails, and waterfalls nearby as well as the town of Highlands NC. You don’t need 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway, which is a plus. And the home is dog friendly! Our favorite waterfall was Kings Creek falls, about a 25 minute drive and half mile hike on an amazing trail that ends with beautiful 75 ft falls and creek pool to cool off in. Also, another easy 25 minute drive, Stumphouse Tunnel is a really fun adventure and paired beside Isoqueena falls overlook. My 10 year old daughter loved everything about this trip! The fire pit is great for evening entertainment. Wifi worked well for us and there are several TVs and board games if you get rained in at any time. We can’t wait to come back. There’s so much more we want to see and do! If you love nature and animals this is your place!!!
